The MeowTested Flapping Squirrel
$24.99
Your cat is a hunter. This toy lets them prove it.
Drop the Flapping Squirrel on the floor and watch your cat's instincts take over. One tap of a paw and it starts thrashing, wiggling, and flapping like real prey. Built-in sound effects and a catnip pouch seal the deal — your cat won't know it's not alive.
Why cats lose their minds for it: Touch-activated movement — flaps and wiggles when batted. Built-in catnip pouch for extra engagement. Lifelike squirrel design triggers natural prey drive. Realistic sound effects during play.
Why you'll love it: USB rechargeable — no buying batteries every week. Washable plush (just remove the motor first). Keeps your cat active and mentally stimulated — even when you're busy. Safe, non-toxic materials.
Two testers with aggressive cats noted plush exterior wear after heavy daily use — durability scored 4.3/5.0. The motor held in all 11 households. Hand-wash the exterior monthly.

What Our Testers Say
We're a small, growing tester network. Every review below is from someone we shipped a real product to and spoke with afterward — no incentivised reviews, no paid placements, no review-farming. As we scale, this number grows organically.
47 pounces. I counted.
Oliver is an indoor cat who was getting bored and lazy. This squirrel toy woke something primal in him. The first time it flapped, he went absolutely nuts — I literally counted 47 consecutive pounces before he collapsed on top of it for a nap. The touch activation is genius because he can play on his own schedule. USB charging means no battery runs to the store.
She carries it around the house like prey
Luna caught the squirrel on day one and now carries it from room to room like she's showing off her kill. The flapping motion triggers her hunting instinct perfectly. She'll bat at it, it starts moving, she pounces, then she carries it to her bed. It's the most natural play behavior I've seen from her. The catnip pouch inside is the cherry on top.
Great concept, plush gets dirty quickly
Noodle is OBSESSED with this toy — she plays with it every single day, sometimes for 30+ minutes. The flapping motion and catnip combination is incredibly engaging. The only downside is the plush exterior gets visibly dirty after about 2 weeks of heavy use. It's hand-washable (just remove the motor), but I wish the material was more stain-resistant. Still, best toy I've ever bought her.
Bought it thinking he'd ignore it. Wrong.
Mango has a graveyard of untouched cat toys. Wand toys, laser pointers, crinkle balls — he ignores them all. I was skeptical about this one. Within 10 seconds of it flapping on the floor, he was in full stalk mode. He's been playing with it every day for two weeks. I've never seen him this engaged with any toy. The touch-activated design means he can play whenever he wants, not just when I'm free.
The only toy that survived Pixel's claws
Pixel destroys everything. Feather wands last 2 days. Stuffed mice last 1. This squirrel has survived 3 weeks of daily combat and still works perfectly. The motor is well-protected inside, and the plush exterior is tougher than it looks. He goes through his full hunting routine — stalk, pounce, kick, carry — and then falls asleep on it. Worth every penny.
Worked for a week, then he lost interest
Honest review: Toby was obsessed for the first 5 days, then completely stopped engaging with it. I rotate it out for a few days and bring it back, which helps a little. I think this depends a lot on the cat — mine just gets bored of toys faster than most. The build quality is fine, motor still works. Not the toy's fault, just an honest 3 stars for my cat.
Loud-ish during the flap
Cat loves it but the motor is audible — not Loud loud, but louder than I expected after seeing the videos. Fine during the day, my partner asked me to put it away at night when Biscuit got the zoomies. Solid play toy otherwise.
